Summer Retreat 2008 - cancelled
The Board of S.C.R.F. does its best to plan and prepare for retreats that will be both edifying and enjoyable for the young adults we seek to serve. Once our preparations are made, we do our best to spread the word through the churches of the region - depending on the help of young adults who know us to help "spread the word." With that done, all we can do is wait and see if enough of you register so as to cover the costs - we are a non-profit organization and the board members are not paid.
We are sad to report that there were not enough registrants to cover the cost of the summer retreat this year. Therefore it was cancelled - at a financial loss to the organization. We hope to recover this loss through the support of congregations that recognize the role we seek to fill in the life the broader church. That said, however, we cannot continue without the involvement of the young adults in our region.
These opportunities are for you. With your participation - registering for events sooner rather than later - first rather than waiting for others to pull you along - we hope to continue to offer opportunities for Biblical instruction in the context of fun and fellowship. Without your participation, the time will come when we will no longer be able to make such opportunities available.
